Kit #3 able to run without OBD input for older cars?

I have purchased the Megalogger kit but it looks like both of my cars aren't OBDII compliant. One is a 2002 Toyota Tarago, the other is a 2000 Mitsubishi Triton.

Both cars have the OBDII connector.
Both cars power the kit via the OBDII connector but it just displays

OBD X Protocol (3-9)
ACC ✓
GPS ✓


How difficult would it be to mod the code to allow this kit to work without the OBDII input (but still using the MEMS etc.)?
