ELM327 Connecting to Emulator

I just got my emulator in, super excited, I was hoping to connect this emulator to an ELM327 but it can't find the protocol. Any tips on how to get this working?

Make sure the connection is secure, the ELM327 is powered up, select the correct protocol (try AT SP 0 command for auto-detection), check the emulator settings and make sure the software is compatible with the ELM327.
