Using Freematics ONE molex port for something other than gps

Post by vatic42 »

Hello,

I have a Freematics ONE. I'd like to use the tx and rx pins on the molex port for something other than gps. Mainly I just want to set and hold them high or low based on a condition, and use that pin to trigger a relay elsewhere in the vehicle.

I've tried the COBDSPI::ioConfig/ioWrite, but that doesn't seem to work. I understand they are connected to the STM controller based on the schematic... where is the control set for that controller?

Any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks,
Matt

ESP32's GPIO 26 and 34 are connected to molex port of ONE+ and you can use them for any purposes.

I have a Freematics ONE, not the +. Is it the same in both models?

Freematics ONE has PC0/PC1 (A0/A1 in Arduino's context) available on the soldering pad located at top left of PCB as picture below.
