How to determine if Emulator supports J1850?

I have a Freematics Emulator that I purchased in 2014 or thereabouts.
An ATZ command returns "OBD-II EMULATOR V1.0".
I have never updated the firmware because of the fear of bricking it with the wrong firmware.

How can I determine if this Emulator module supports J1850?
It has the 6 pin connector on the side of the Emulator which would indicate support for J1850.
However, when I send "ATBUS J1850_PWM" or "ATBUS J1850_VPW", I get "ERROR".

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I need to emulate both J1850 protocols.
