Decode BMW drive modes

Post by ucFreak »

Hi Stanley,
You have an exceptional project/product here, I just started to build one myself for my new Bimmer 228i and stumbled across your product. Can you please support the drive modes in the new BMWs? I want to be able to determine the switching between different modes and change the interior accent lighting accordingly.

Info about Bimmer modes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=253tkqP_1y4

Thanks
Ashwin

Do you have idea of what protocol your car uses?

When you say "what protocol", I am assuming you are talking about the physical layer, if so, I believe it is CAN for all newer bimmer models.

If your car is CAN bus (ISO14230), it should work well.
