Freematics ONE sd card issues

After quite some time, I finally managed to get the datalogger example loaded up and working.
However, while it detects the SD card, it's unable to successfully write the logs to it.
The Serial monitor shows that a new file has been created and immediately thereafter, an error writing. This loops endlessly.
After this, the sd card cannot be mounted on Linux though it works OK on phone. I wonder why
Also of note, is that while compiling, I encountered this warning
Global variables use 1576 bytes (76%) of dynamic memory, leaving 472 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 2048 bytes.
As far as I can tell, the SD is good, Freematics is also good as it logs to Serial when the SD card is not inserted. Any help wit this will be much appreciated.
PFA, the numerous files created after each failure.
