Using Arduino to transmit sensor data

I am interested in passing sensor data like RPM, vehicle speed, coolant temp, etc. from my vehicle, through an Arduino, and to the Freematics OBD-II emulator via serial port. Has this been done by anyone? Is there a specific Arduino board with sample code anyone can point me to?
