Timeout error

I have recently tried to use my OBDII 12C adapter on my 2008 Dodge charger and I am receiving a timeout error whenever it tries to initialize in the example sketch. My board is not communicating with the adapter but the adapter is putting out 5v which can power the board. I made sure that I had all libraries and that the wires were correct. Is my car not compatable?
