Adding new PIDs, 16 bit PIDs and source code?

Post by jim_reich »

Hi. I'm wondering if it's possible to add new PIDs to the emulator?
I'd be OK doing it myself, but I don't see the source code anywhere -- is this product open sourced like the others?

Also, at least on my VAG-COM, PIDs seem to be 16 bit numbers (or at least go up to 999). Is there some way to support these larger PID indexes?

Thanks!

Jim did you every get a reply to your post?
I work for CarMD/Innova it's a company that's been in the OBDII business for many years.
A ECM simulator that doesn't provide Freeze Frame data (Mode 02) is not an ECU simulator.
Freematics needs to add Mode 02 pids to make this a useful tool.
I'm currently using a ECUSIM 5100 manufactured by OBD Solutions.
Its a little expensive and very limited in features.
Only 5 pids are variable but it does allow you to set the MIL on and generate Freeze Frame data.
I think Freematics would a very competitive product if they can incorporate MIL on and Freeze Frame pids.
By the way OBD Solutions customer service is pathetic.
Like posting something and never getting a reply.

Hope you get a reply,
