emulating ignition OFF / ON

Hi there,
I read from the site that the OBD-II emulator supports emulating ignition OFF / ON using ATACC0 / ATACC1 command but does not emulate any voltage change caused by ignition switching. My question is, how does the emulation implemented? What is the physical signal that tells the OBD device that the ignition is on?

Currently that switch only affects whether requests of PIDs are responded or not.
