i am an old client and for some time i was using the "old" v1 I2C OBD adapter. The response rate was ok (using the old libraries etc). Recently I bought the v2 I2C adapter and it seems that the response rate is much much slower (tested it on two cars). The odd thing is that on my bench using the freematics emulator seems to be working fine and it is quite responsive
The easy thing to say is that the it is the ecu's slow response BUT how come the v1 I2C adapter works fine on these two cars?
Year/make/model of the cars would be useful too. Anything 2005 and before will poll pretty slowly. Even then, you don't get "good" polls until 2012+. Depending on the frequency you want, the sheer number of PIDs will slow things down.
